GROOVE ACTIVATION FOR SCHOOLS

Movement becomes a shared language.

Students explore rhythm, musicality, and accessible movement inspired by African, Caribbean, and Latin diaspora traditions. The experience is energetic, culturally grounded, and adjusted to the group.

Listen. Respond. Move. Create.

Ivan leads a clear progression from noticing rhythm to participating in a shared movement experience. No previous dance experience is required, and students are invited rather than pressured to take part.

Participation can take more than one form.

Students may enter through observation, rhythm, seated or standing movement, simple repetition, or gradual participation. Schools are invited to share mobility, sensory, communication, and other access needs before the visit so the plan can be adjusted responsibly.

Rhythm with context.

Influences are not presented as anonymous “global rhythms.” Ivan names cultural roots with care and connects movement to the people, histories, and communities that keep it alive.
